Prof. Dr. Khar Thoe
Dr. Ng Khar Thoe is a passionate, multidisciplinary scholar and educator from Malaysia with a strong commitment to lifelong learning and environmental sustainability education through technology-driven, transdisciplinary approaches. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from Open University Malaysia, an M.Ed. from Brunel University (UK), a B.Sc.Ed. (Hons.) from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and a Diploma in Health Education & Nursing from Kingston University & St. College of Health Studies, UK.
Dr. Ng is currently affiliated with the Faculty of Education and Liberal Arts (FELA) at INTI International University, Nilai, Malaysia. She has served in various academic and leadership roles including Editor-in-Chief, Journal Manager, Regional Coordinator, Visiting Professor at the University of Tsukuba (Japan), and guest lecturer at Al-Bukhary International University (AIU) and Wawasan Open University (WOU).
Her research interests span science and social science education, environmental sustainability, and learner skill development through PBA, PBL, and IBL methodologies. She has guided numerous postgraduate students—eight Master’s and one Ph.D. graduate, with many others currently under supervision.
Dr. Ng is the founder of the Southeast Asia Regional Capacity-Enhancement Hub (SEARCH) and has played a pivotal role in numerous international and regional initiatives, including SEAMEO-funded EdTech collaborations. She is also a Technical Advisor and life member of the Society for Research Development (SRD).
With over 380 publications, including books, chapters, and Scopus/ISI-indexed articles, Dr. Ng’s contributions have been widely cited and recognized with several awards and accolades from global academic forums and innovation competitions. Her recent work includes mentoring award-winning student projects in international Minecraft and e-sports competitions (2021–2023).
